2008 Castrol DMCC Series Champion to Participate in Red Bull Drifting World Championship
Drift Mania is proud to announce that this year’s winner of the Castrol DMCC Series has officially been invited to participate and compete in the 2008 Red Bull Drifting World Championship. This shall be, without a doubt, a historic event in the world of drift, as the world’s top drifters will come together to compete for the title of Drifting World Champion.
Formula Drift and Red Bull are throwing together this momentous event, which will take place on November 15th and 16th 2008, in a top secret location in Long Beach, California. Here, drivers hailing from the United States, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Scandinavia, Singapore, Ireland, and the UK, will come together and battle it out in order to determine who is the ultimate best drifter! A notable mention is the addition of Canada in this competition, which will be represented by the winner of the 2008 Castrol DMCC series.
Aside from the possibility of making not only your drifting series, country, fans, and sponsors proud; the winner will be awarded the largest prize purse ever known in drifting history - $50,000 USD! Moreover, a $1,500 USD subsidy will be paid to the competing Team/Driver.
As you can imagine, the drivers in the 2008 Castrol DMCC series now have an even bigger incentive to go all out and give it all they got for the remainder of the season. The stakes have just been raised and one would have to be mad to pass up an opportunity like this.
To all the Drift Mania fans out there, you can be assured that the last two rounds in the 2008 season will be jam-packed with hardcore action, knowing that the jackpot now includes a spot in the Red Bull Drifting World Championship.
